Designing an approachable and trustworthy brand for an AI service that detects early signs of cognitive decline.
IGSA is a startup founded at the Matsuo Laboratory of the University of Tokyo, focusing on designing future social systems through the collaboration of AI and humans. I led the communication design for the launch of “Hanashitene,” a new service that analyzes brain health using AI through a simple two-minute conversation, detecting early signs of cognitive decline. Addressing the sensitive topic of dementia, we aimed to create a brand tone that is gentle, warm, and approachable, reflecting the company’s mission to integrate awareness of brain changes into everyday life.

To encourage users to try the service casually, we developed a soft and friendly visual tone while balancing it with scientific credibility, using data visualizations and photos from verification tests to build trust. I designed copy and visuals across various outputs, including the website, presentation slides, event display panels, and flyers, tailoring each to its specific purpose and audience. I also handled the implementation of the website using a no-code tool. The brand was carefully crafted to deliver reassurance and reliability, rather than instilling fear around cognitive health. The service is scheduled for release in August 2025, and I will continue to support its evolution as a communication designer.
